Best Places to See Fireworks in Colorado

The Fourth of July is fast-approaching! These are some of the best places in Colorado to showcase your patriotism and watch some fireworks in honor of the USA. Most of the shows are free unless otherwise specified and all are fun and family friendly!


Both of these awesome Denver-based events take place on the 4th of July and regular admission rates apply. At Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, you can go watch America’s favorite pastime and celebrate it’s birthday all at once! Go watch the Colorado Rapids duke it out with the Seattle Sounders and stay put until after the game for a fireworks extravaganza.

If baseball isn’t your sport, you can watch the Denver Outlaws lacrosse team at Sports Authority Field at Mile High as they take on the Atlanta Blaze. Fireworks will be accompanied by visuals on the stadium screen immediately following the game.

At 6 o’clock on the 4th of July at Aurora Municipal Building Great Lawn, 15151 E. Alameda Parkway, a free show is set to begin. Food trucks, a fully stocked beer garden, and one of the best fireworks shows in Colorado set the scene for this fun filled event. Fireworks are scheduled to start at 9 pm.


WK Real Estate, The City of Boulder, and the University of Colorado are hosting a free event at Folsom Field. Gates are set to open at 8 o’clock on the 4th of July, and a sing-a-long of some of America’s favorite traditional songs will take place before the show. Fireworks will begin when night falls, so get there early. Free parking is available around the campus area.

Colorado Springs

Cripple Creek 4th of July Celebration will have live bands from noon until 4 o’clock and 6 to 10 o’clock. This is a great way to spend the whole day outside enjoying America’s birthday. It takes place on July 1st and fireworks are set to start at 9:30. Food trucks and a beer garden will be up and running to keep you moving all day long.

If you’ve ever been to Manitou Springs, you’ll know this is the place to be on the 4th. Luckily, the Manitou Springs Volunteer Fire Department is hosting a free fireworks show once more! Higginbotham Flats is set to launch the fireworks so find a good spot to set up a chair in downtown Manitou and be prepared for a great show.
